On December 15, 2012 Parchem – fine & specialty chemicals’ holiday extravaganza fundraiser for HOPE Community Services was a huge success. The festivities took place at the headquarters of Parchem – fine & specialty chemicals, which recently introduced its new art gallery, Mahlstedt Gallery. The Mahlstedt Gallery is one of the newest art galleries located in New Rochelle, New York and is owned by Oshi & Ephraim Rabin.

While the extravaganza was twofold, the guests were elated to contribute to such a laudable cause– supporting HOPE Community Services. The 120+ guests participated in a 50/50 raffle drawing in which the winner of the drawing James Goonan, a Parchem employee who decided to donate his prize back to HOPE Community Services.  Mr. Goonan noted “In keeping with Parchem’s corporate values and my passion to help those less fortunate, this is my way of giving back this season.”  Parchem’s CEO, Ephraim Rabin, matched the guest’s contributions which resulted in a sizeable gift to HOPE Community Services.  Mr. Rabin, CEO of Parchem fine & specialty chemicals, said “We are big supporters of HOPE Community Services and my corporate tenets dictate that supporting the community in which we do business is the right thing to do year-round, not just for the holidays.”

HOPE Community Services (Help Our People Eat) has supported the increasing needs of the New Rochelle community since its inception in 1984. As their mission is to help low income families maintain adequate nutrition, HOPE serves hot meals three days a week.  In 2010, HOPE Community Services served 28,108 meals, distributed 15,797 grocery bags and helped 1739 families.  HOPE’s initial focus was serving food, and feeding the community, but the response from the community upon HOPE’s founding was reactive and led to additional needs.  HOPE quickly realized this and began to organize clothing drives, offer emotional support and training on language skills as well as other daily necessities.

Parchem – fine & specialty chemicals has been a long-time supporter of HOPE Community Services as well as other local charities and organizations.  As a local business, Parchem believes in community outreach and building stronger relationships with our neighbors.  Parchem – fine & specialty chemicals looks forward to working with HOPE and other outreach programs to support the betterment of communities in New Rochelle, New York.
