Cumene hydroperoxide (CHP) is an extremely valuable specialtyCHP intermediate to the plastics and epoxy resins industries.  Parchem – fine & specialty chemicals is proud to offer high quality CHP available for shipment in drums and totes in the United States.

This unique peroxide functions as both a polymerization inhibitor and a reagent for the manufacture of organic peroxides. CHP is also a strong oxidizing agent.

CHP Industry ApplicationsAdding CHP to epoxy vinyl ester systems can eliminate the foaming experienced with traditional methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP).  CHP systems allow for a wide range of gel times followed by a well-controlled cure.  This allows relatively thick laminates to be made, thereby reducing the risk of overheating and warping.
