At Parchem – fine and specialty chemicals, we are accustomed to servicing industrial customers the world over, with highly useful ingredients important in many applications. These may include volatile chemicals that must be handled with extreme care and are regulated by the DEA. Our team of logistics, regulatory and compliance experts direct the shipment of a number of these substances, ensuring their safe storage and delivery to customers who need them. One such notable chemical is methyl ethyl ketone.
Methyl Ethyl Ketone (CAS 78-93-3) is also known as MEK, 2-Butanone, DEA Code 6714, and Butanone. A naturally-occurring chemical produced by trees and other plants, MEK is a flammable, colorless liquid with an acetone-like odor. It does not react with water or many common materials, and is stable in normal conditions, although its combustion can produce toxic substances.
This compound is used to make a wide array of materials, from resins and coatings, wax, and plastics, as well as use in oil and gas drilling and production. We offer standard technical and military grades. Parchem's Military-Spec MEK meets ASTM-D740 requirements. We also offer MEK Peroxide as a catalyst for polyester resin polymerization.
Parchem’s dedicated sourcing experts are transparent in their focus on quality, safety, and responsibility for people and the environment. We are always ready to locate the raw materials you need, in your preferred form, grade, pack type and size, and in accordance with your intended use.
