Patricia Turcan, General Manager of Parchem and former chair of NACD’s OPSEM Committee, joined with chemical industry leaders this week to participate in NACD’s annual meeting with legislators in Washington D.C. Each spring, chemical distributors and their supply chain partners meet with their elected officials in Washington D.C to promote the welfare and interests of the chemical industry.
This year’s meetings were focused on the US Government’s regulatory reach over the chemical industry as a whole, specifically with regard to making distinctions between chemical manufacturers and distributors. “Working closely with our legislators and meeting face-to-face is the best way to effect impactful changes in our nation’s policies on chemical distribution,” noted Turcan. “Most of our country’s leaders have a background in law, so any opportunity to bring the needs of chemical businesses to the forefront of governmental awareness is valuable.”
