Propylene Tetramer is produced by the polymerization of propylene with a solid phased phosphoric acid catalyst. Propylene Tetramer is often also referred to as dodecene. a versatile petrochemical with polymeric functionality, propylene tetramer is a useful chemical intermediate for a variety of applications. Main applications of propylene tetramer include using it as an additive for fuel and lubricants. Other uses include utilizing propylene tetramer in the production of plasticizers, surfactants, emulsifiers for herbicides, and as a corrosion inhibitor in coatings. Propylene tetramer is also an important component of traditional fuel (gasoline) and generally has a high octane rating.
