Petrolatum is a Semisolid mixture of hydrocarbons obtained from dewaxing residual oil; consists predominantly of sat. crystalline and liq. hydrocarbons with C25 Petrolatum uses and applications include: Laxative base; dispersant; leather grease; shoe polish; rust preventives; plastics, rubber, textiles lubricant; cable lubricants; electronic insulation impregnation wax; detackifier in printing inks; glazing agent, sealing agent, release agent in foods; protective food coatings; release agent, lubricant in bakery products, confectionery; chewing gum ingredient; defoamer in beet sugar and yeast processing; excipient, ointment base, antistat, filler, solvent, emollient, skin protectant in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, veterinary products; adhesive diluent; emulsifier, rheological control agent in moisturizers, ointments, creams, fragrance preparations; in food packaging adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives; release agent and surfactant lubricant in food-contact coatings; in paperpaperboard in contact with aqueousfatty foods; defoamer in food-contact coatings and paperpaperboard
