On December 15, 2012, Parchem fine & specialty chemicals hosted a holiday extravaganza that was a fundraiser for a local charity and the exclusive pre-launch viewing for New Rochelle’s newest art gallery: The Mahlstedt Gallery. The fundraiser was held for HOPE community services, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide food, shelter, and support for New Rochelle’s homeless community. The generous donations were matched by Oshi and Ephraim Rabin, hosts of the event and owner/curators of the new Mahlstedt Gallery. Oshi Rabin is a well-respected bronze sculptor whose artwork was on display to introduce the party’s guests to her elegant and brilliant artistic expressions.
Oshi and Ephraim Rabin share a lifelong passion for the arts. As a well-respected bronze sculptor and art collector, Oshi’s love of art fueled her desire to launch the Mahlstedt gallery. The Rabin’s collection of art featured in the gallery was only a snapshot of what can be anticipated for the official grand opening of the Mahlstedt Gallery in the Spring of 2013. The contemporary art gallery will feature inspiring works from artists all over the world. Additionally, the 2000 square foot Mahlstedt Gallery will host exclusive art work for interior designers to purchase for their clients and it will act as a venue for other prominent events requiring a pristine, elegant location. The ultimate goal of the gallery is to position New Rochelle as a Mecca to showcase emerging artists across various spectrums.
