As an ISO 9001 certified company, Parchem is committed to stakeholder satisfaction, continual improvement, and providing high-quality products to our partners across a plethora of industries.  Some of the markets we serve include food & beverage chemicals, pharmaceuticals, paints & coatings, oil & gas drilling, specialty intermediates, and performance chemicals.  This week, Parchem is highlighting Acetic Acid, a versatile raw material that is used in a wide range of applications.

Acetic Acid [CAS# 64-19-7] is a clear, colorless liquid with a sharp odor. In its diluted form, acetic acid is a more commonly known as vinegar and can be found in most kitchens as an eco-friendly cleaner. Additionally, it is used worldwide as an additive and flavor enhancing compound in foods. In the food industry, acetic acid is listed under food additive code E260 as an acidity regulator and as a condiment.

Because of its antibacterial properties, dilute acetic acid is also used in the production of many health and hygiene products, including hair conditioners and natural deodorants. Along with its household applications, acetic acid is also utilized industrially and commercially to manufacture a variety of fragrances, synthetic fibers, textiles, specialty rubbers, and even plastic products.

Parchem – fine & specialty chemicals specializes in strategic sourcing, dynamic partnerships, and proactive supply chain management to support our partner’s needs. Whether you are in need of a specialized chemical intermediate or a raw material that is essential for production, Parchem is committed to being a reliable part of our partners supply chain.
