Parchem – fine & specialty chemicals is a leading supplier of Caproic and Caprylic acid.

Caprylic AcidCapyrlic Acid [CAS: 124-07-2] is an eight-carbon saturated fatty acid that is commonly found in the milk of mammals. Caprylic acid is also found in coconut and palm kernel oils in smaller volumes. Caprylic acid is sometimes referred to as Octanoic acid or by its lipid number C8:0. Caprylic acid is often used in the manufacturing of esters, perfumery, lubricants, dyes, and other downstream chemical derivatives.

Caproic AcidCaproic acid [CAS: 142-62-1] is similar to Caprylic acid, but it has a shorter six-carbon chain and is derived from hexane. Caproic acid is commonly found in the fats of animals and sometimes referred to as Hexanoic acid, or by its lipid numbers C6:0.  Caproic acid is primarily used in the manufacturing of esters, artificial flavorings (such as strawberry, beer, nut, and bread), and downstream derivatives. The esters and salts of Caproic acid are referred to as Hexanaotes or Caproates.  Both Caproic and Caprylic acid are historically used in butter, milk, and creams.

Parchem – fine & specialty chemicals supplies both Caproic and Caprylic acids as individual components and as a Caproic/Caprylic Acid blend.  Parchem is an ISO 9001:2008 certified chemical distributor that has been serving the food, pharmaceutical, personal care, and specialty chemical industries for over 20 years. We supply a wide range of fatty acids including long-chain, medium-chain, and short-chain fatty acids such as Caproic and Caprylic acid.
