Sodium perborate monohydrate [CAS: 10332-33-9] is a white crystalline solid that is used as a source of active oxygen in cleaning products and detergents.  It is also used in personal care products, cosmetics, and in certain dental products for its bleaching effects.  Sodium perborate monohydrate is a water-soluble inorganic compound with four oxygen ligands and an overall negative charge.  These properties make it a preferred oxygen donator in cleaning and detergent products.

Sodium perborate monohydrate is also used as a chemical intermediate and a reducing agent in certain synthesis applications.  Sodium perborate monohydrate carries an overall negative charge on its structure which makes it a suitable proton-accepting agent in redox chemistry.  It is used in the production of certain antiseptic and disinfectant products which require high levels of active oxygen to function.
