Lauramine oxide or lauryldimethylamine oxide (CAS 1643-20-5), is an Amine N-oxide that is a clear to amber colored liquid that is soluble in water. Amine N-oxides are active surfactants found in body care products. Like most surfactants, lauramine oxide is used as a foam enhancer, stabilizer and viscosity builder.
Due to its high foam building properties, lauramine oxide is an active component found in shampoo, bubble bath soaps, hand soaps, and face cleaners. Other than body care products, lauramine oxide is used in bleach cleaners, car wash soaps, and dish washing detergents
