Parchem Supplies Castor Oil and Derivatives

The hydroxyl functional group resting on the 12th carbon makes it unusually polar, and this polarity is the cause for its unique properties as a chemical feedstock for a number of useful derivatives.

Hydroquinone and its most common uses

Parchem is in a position to be a leading supplier of Hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is an organic based aromatic compound that comes in a white granular solid / flake. Hydroquinone’s most common use is its ability to act as a reducing agent that is water soluble. Hydroquinone is used in photographic film and paper where it acts as a reducing agent, reducing silver halides to elemental silver. Since it is known for its reducing ability, Hydroquinone is also polymerization inhibitor for Acrylic acid, Methyl Methacrylate, Cyanoacrylate, and other monomers that are commonly used in adhesives, glue, and other types of bonding applications.

Parchem – fine & specialty chemicals attended the Society of Cosmetic Chemists Suppliers Day tradeshow at the New Jersey Convention center. Parchem exhibited alongside BK Giulini representatives to further promote our personal care product line. The tradeshow was a great platform for Parchem to partner with the Cosmetic community.

Parchem attends 2012 Supply Side East

The month of May proves to be a busy one for the entire Parchem team. In addition to the American Coatings show the week of 5/7, Parchem was also in attendance at Supply Side East at the Javits Center in New York City.
