ZIRKONAL AP4G-W is an almost white supplementary type of the enhanced efficacy antiperspirant active, ZIRKONAL AP4G. By using this material, the usual color fluctuation associated with regular actives can be minimized. Both types Zirkonal AP4G and AP4G-W provide improved sweat reduction over standard Aluminum Zirconium Chlorohydrex Gly powder, ZIRKONAL P4G. The increase in efficacy is attributed to an activation step, which causes a change in the polymer distribution.
ZIRKONAL AP4G-W is used in formulations, e.g. sticks, suspension roll-ons, soft solids and creams, where an enhanced antiperspirant effect combined with a neutral color is required. According to the FDA guidelines, only non-aerosol dosage forms are allowed. The maximum permitted concentration of ZIRKONAL AP4G-W is 20 %, calculated on an anhydrous basis, omitting from the calculation any buffer component present in the compound.
