Sodium Bromate [CAS: 7789-38-0] is a white inorganic salt that is a strong oxidant and is soluble in water and insoluble in alcohol. Sodium Bromate is also referred to as Bromic acid sodium salt and Sodium Bromate (V). Sodium Bromate is the sodium salt of bromic acid and is produced via two pathways; the first is when Bromine is passed through a solution of Sodium Carbonate and the second way is by the electrolytic oxidation of Sodium Bromide.

Sodium Bromate is particularly useful in the manufacturing of sulfur and vat dyes and in continuous batch dying processes. Sodium Bromate also is used as a solvent in precious metal mining such as gold mining applications.  Other applications of Sodium Bromate include printing & dying applications used as a chemical agent in the testing of inorganic chemicals, phenols and cosmetic applications.  Additionally, Sodium Bromate is also used in applications such as a designing compound in textile applications, and as a reagent in chemical reactions.
